New Month

Today is supposed to be some Blue Moon  that happens once every 3 yrs... if anyone is interested in that...

July has been slow, but i have plans for August, to paint, finish my short story (which has been hanging for almost 2 months now), get back to playing the guitar and making productive blue prints for how i should end the last few months of this year.

I am realizing that being a constant blogger is lacking motivation, I will try keep it alive till it finds a direction though...

Crush

You know that unfailable obsessive feeling you get after you have met a relatively nice guy and at the same time you know this isn't going to go anywhere? ......Yeah, I've got that.

You would think this wouldn't happen once you are older...but somehow your heart convinces you that you are still a teenage girl who can have crushes. This feels like some form of self inflicted abuse! The only thing that has helped me ever was time apart. Like out of sight, out of mind? Well this one seems to be taking its sweet time to get out of my mind.

Its not even like I've become unproductive or anything. I'm occupied with work most of the time. I'm always up to something. Thankfully sitting idle is not an option for my mind.

Still, i guess some things will take the time they need to stay where they have to....and then one day i wont even realize when i would have gotten over it.

Sky above the clouds.

I recently attended a friends wedding in Indore and caught a beautiful picture of the sky while sitting in the plane. Just thought I'd post something pretty today.

The Fluctuating Climate

Has anyone been noticing it?

In India, this time of the year is suppose to be summer. The scorching heat kind of summer. Even though the climate in Bangalore is known to be a mostly pleasant one, I have to say these thunderstorms this year do feel a little out of place. I'm not complaining, I love the rains. It could rain 10 months in a year if it was about how I would like it, but its the climate change that's becoming so evident all over the world that gets to me.

Its not like people are not aware of Global Warming, they just don't care enough. There are a number of hypothesis that scientists and coming out with. The two most likely are the ones where the melting of the Polar caps cause a temperature drop worldwide leading to another Ice Age, the other one is the melting will cause massive flooding and take in several coastal cities.

Either will impact the living species in this world. Pushing every single one to go into survival mode. As ignorant as a majority of us are, I'm thinking there might only be a handful that make it through. Nature always gets its way after all. It can live without us, we can't live without it.

Until next time

Short Stories

I've read online that the best way to get better at writing is to get creative with it.

So that's what I have been up to the past few days, writing a short story.(which according to my research can span anywhere from 1500 - 35000 words). I wasn't aware that writing something out of my imagination would need so much planing. But I've come across this method called the Snowflake Method, which seems to be working for me. My main aim this time is to finish the whole story since i tend to leave it halfway every-time I try write one.

Its the only thing I am doing right now, so it's like 'Write or get bored'.

Until next time...

Single Weave Basket

This was one of my very first attempts at basket weaving with newspaper. The process was simple and since it is single weave, it wasn't that time consuming either. The main material was rolled up newspaper sheets.  The color difference you see near the top was intentionally so. I used 2 shades of brown acrylic paint to get the desired effect.

The dimensions of the basket: 7 ½ “ in diameter & 5”depth.
